Black Clauchrie House is an Arts and Crafts style former hunting lodge, set in 14 acres of grounds near Barhill in South Ayrshire. Adrian and Caroline Goodall from Yorkshire saw and fell in love with the property back in 2004. Adrian was looking for a change in his life after a serious accident, so he sold up his business and purchased the house. Unfortunately the house needs extensive renovation and the demand to get some money in to maintain the property means that he is away from the house working long hours, and so can't spend the time on the repairs - a catch 22 situation.

The couple are tryong to capitalise on their investment by letting the house out to paying guests whilst they've moved into the servants quarters next door. Ruth tries to help the pair take advantage of their home's heritage, but will the sheer strain of the whole situation help destroy the couple's relationship, and put the future of Black Clauchrie House at risk?
